Ohana

Why We THON

Ohana's mission is to provide Penn State students with an opportunity to raise money and lend support to Four Diamonds families who are part of the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON). Ohana members bring love, support, determination and strength to those children suffering from pediatric cancer and become a family away from home for them to turn to, creating memories that will last a lifetime for all involved.

About Us
Welcome to Ohana! As one of the top two Special Interest Organizations for the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON), Ohana raised $227,754.69 in 2015 for the fight against pediatric cancer. Since Ohana began in the Fall of 2008, we have raised over $1 million to help families financially and emotionally overcome the struggles that have burdened their children. Together, we are fighting for a cure. YOU can help us support the thousands of families that battle cancer every day. One day we will dance in celebration. Until then, we dance for a cure!

Your Support is Greatly Appreciated

Four Diamonds provides the ability to offset the costs of cancer treatment not covered by insurance, taking the pressure off the families. Additionally, Four Diamonds hires world-class medical specialists as part of its cancer-fighting team, including child life specialists, and clinical nutritionists. Four Diamonds has also established multiple research endowments that impact children across the nation, including a research program that will allow for Phase I and Phase II clinical trials, bringing us one step closer to a cure. It is this type of care and research that has ranked Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital one of the best in the country for cancer care by the U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospital Rankings. Thanks to THON’s donors, we are making a difference in the lives of children and families, taking more steps towards a cure! For The Kids!
