Primary role is assisting in daily management and operation of 60 station automated calling center (Lion Line). Responsible for providing direction in the operational activities of Lion Line. Programmer/Analyst 3 (Associate Director of Analytics), Research & Prospect Development (Job #39325)

The Office of Research and Prospect Development within University Development is looking for a programmer/analyst. This position will have the working title of Associate Director for Analytics. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the Director of Research and Prospect Development and the Associate Director for Project Management to establish a formalized analytics program within the Research and Prospect Development office. Key duties will include developing predictive scoring models that will allow enhanced unit-specific identification and segmentation of the alumni, donor and prospect base by leveraging internal and external data, produce analysis reports using data-visualization techniques, participate in the development of new analytics solutions including data mining, forecasting, simulation, segmentation, and market research strategies. This position will be expected to devise and produce analytical and adhoc reports to support Development senior leadership in data driven decision-making. The successful candidate will partner with Senior Research Analysts as well as other end-users in the division to understand business practices and information needs and develop data driven products and services to support those needs. Successful candidates must be proficient in statistical analytics, possess strong oral and written communication skills, have an aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving, a proficiency in the use of large data sets and a relational database, the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and the ability to work well with diverse colleagues. Additionally, fluency or proven ability to learn various computer software related to data mapping, data mining, and statistical software tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL programming, SAS, SPSS, MapPoint, PowerPoint, among others) is critical in this position. Major Gifts Officer 5 (Director of Development) – College of Arts & Architecture (Job #39286)

Penn State’s Office of University Development is seeking a Director of Development for the College of Arts and Architecture. The University is in the midst of an ambitious, comprehensive, seven-year fundraising campaign. As a lead player for one of the largest Development units at Penn State, the Director of Development will be a high-profile job within the University and requires a candidate with extraordinary experience and vision. This senior Major Gifts Officer will report directly to the Associate Vice President of University Development and will have a close working relationship with the Dean of the College of Arts and Architecture. The College encompasses more than 15,000 alumni and currently raises approximately $5 - $7 million in annual receipts. The Director of Development will be responsible for the oversight and management of these fundraising efforts and will direct the frontline fundraising staff. OUD Manager 5 (Assistant Athletic Director for the Nittany Lion Club), Athletics (Job #38592)

Penn State’s Office of University Development is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director to oversee and manage all fundraising activities for Intercollegiate Athletics. Penn State is in the final 18 months of a $2 billion plus capital campaign. The fundraising efforts of the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics (Nittany Lion Club), which has a campaign goal of $300M and has raised $290M to date, will play an integral role in the University’s successful completion of this campaign and beyond. The Nittany Lion Club, composed of Penn State alumni and friends of intercollegiate athletics, was established in 1961 to create greater interest in and financial support of Penn State varsity athletics. Donations to the Nittany Lion Club make possible grant-in-aid support for many of the more than 800 worthy student-athletes and provide operation support for Penn State’s entire 31-sport program, including 16 men’s and 15 women’s teams. The Assistant Athletic Director for the Nittany Lion Club will report directly to the Associate Vice President for University Development and will maintain a dotted line report to the Associate Athletic Director – External Relations within Intercollegiate Athletics. The Assistant Athletic Director for the Nittany Lion Club will have principal responsibility for the management and coordination of all Nittany Lion Club personnel and fundraising undertakings, including administrative supervision of the Penn State All-Sports Museum. Specific Nittany Lion Club duties include administrative oversight of the major gift fundraising efforts, the annual fund membership campaign, establishing and implementing the comprehensive strategy for all intercollegiate athletic fundraising programs and assuring coordination across athletic development, athletic ticketing, marketing and communications. The Assistant Athletic Director will participate in strategic planning and Goal Setting for Intercollegiate Athletics development efforts and provide oversight for events and activities. The Assistant Athletic Director will manage major gift prospects, support campaign volunteers and staff and interact with the Intercollegiate Athletics campaign chair. A metropolitan area of 280,000, Erie, Pa. is a major service, tourism, medical and manufacturing region along Lake Erie’s Presque Isle Bay. The college is two hours from Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Buffalo. The college operates four academic divisions – engineering (all majors ABET accredited); business (AACSB accredited); science; and humanities and social sciences—and fields 22 NCAA Division III intercollegiate teams. Penn State is in the public phase of a $2 billion plus capital campaign and the fundraising efforts of the Behrend College will play an integral role in the University’s successful completion of this campaign; The college has a combined campaign goal of $35 million and has raised more than $50 million to date. Major Gifts Officer 3 (Associate Director, Four Diamonds Fund), Penn State Hershey Medical Center (Job #38400)

The Associate Director of the Four Diamonds Fund is responsible for assisting in the management of the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, specifically in the areas of donor stewardship, annual giving (individuals, organizations, and corporate support), managing volunteers and special events/meeting planning. Annual Giving Specialist 2 (Assistant Director, Annual Campaigns), Penn State Hershey Medical Center (Job #37033)

The Assistant Director, Annual Campaigns is responsible for annual giving strategy and services for grateful patient and faculty/staff programs including direct response and electronic communications in support of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations’ fundraising efforts. Assist in developing and managing annual campaigns including Honor Your Doctor mailings (150,000+) and monthly grateful patient fundraising direct mail activities (10,000/month): work effectively with colleagues in operations, Penn State Hershey Medical Center staff, and University employees to ensure appropriate data pulls, segmentation, and management. Work with operations and communications specialists to ensure online fundraising and social networking initiatives for employees are implemented and maintained. Analyze employee giving to determine patterns and opportunities for developing sustainable strategies to increase number of donors and number/amount of gifts from employee donors. Serve as an active member of the annual campaigns and alumni relations team: collaborate with Penn State College of Medicine alumni relations officers to coordinate solicitation and reunion giving campaign efforts. Work with colleagues to produce annual and quarterly reports. Analyze and distill crucial points of direct response data; interpret and communicate results. Develop and maintain positive, productive relationships with colleagues in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, across the Penn State Hershey Medical Center campus and outlying offices, throughout the University, and nationally: work with Faculty Staff Campaign Chair and other staff members across campus on employee giving initiatives. Liaise with Office of Development and Alumni Relations staff and colleagues from Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Marketing and Communications and other Penn State communications professionals to coordinate solicitations (appeals, brochures, for direct mail and electronic communication campaigns). Benchmark with annual fund professionals from other academic medical centers. Related fundraising background including annual giving experience (academic medical center experience preferred) . Excellent verbal and interpersonal communications skills required. Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required. Exceptional ability to think strategically and analytically. Database management; ability to extract and analyze data from various systems required. Commitment to serve as a positive, contributing member of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. The successful candidate must possess exemplary interpersonal skills and demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree plus two years of work related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
