Penn State seniors have a long tradition of giving to Penn State, beginning with the class of 1861. Penn State landmarks such as the Lion Shrine, the Allen Street Gates, and class scholarships are the result of senior class energy and financial support. The mission of the Senior Class Gift campaign is to promote a philanthropic spirit among the graduating class by providing students an opportunity to start their legacy of giving to the University. By organizing and financing a campus project or scholarship, Penn State seniors leave behind a bit of their own personality and take their first steps toward being proud alumni.
Penn State alumni and benfactors Ed and Helen Hintz have once again challenged the senior class to achieve 3,300 pledges toward the 2013 Senior Class Gift Campaign. If we reach this goal, Mr. and Mrs. Hintz will endow a $50,000 scholarship in the class of 2013's name, enabling future students to receive a Penn State education. We are going to reach our goal!
All artists are welcome to submit an entry for the We Are sculpture. A national competition is being held for the commission of a sculpture adjacent to the east side of the Intramural Building. This highly visible site is centrally located and is recognized as a primary gateway to campus from the east. Construction will accompany renovations to the IM Building. Beaver Stadium and the Bryce Jordan Center are nearby and visible from this location.
