Mark S. Armagost
Executive Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations

Mark joined Penn State in February 2013. He will focus on leading the team of corporate and foundation officers in their efforts to grow philanthropic support benefitting the students, faculty members, and programs of Penn State. He also will position the office to serve as a gateway for the private sector to interact with Penn State. Before joining the University, Mark had fundraising positions with progressive responsibilities in corporate and foundation relations serving as Senior Associate Director at North Carolina State University and Director at Virginia Tech.

Mark earned a B.A. in English and an M.S. in Technical Communications from North Carolina State University. Mark lives in State College and enjoys barbecuing, hiking, and photography.


Beth Colledge 
Director of Corporate Relations

Beth focuses on corporate fundraising in engineering, business, and IST. She joined the Corporate and Foundation Relations team at Penn State in October 2008. Prior to arriving at Penn State in 2005, Beth returned to State College to work for AccuWeather as their senior manager of business development for VoIP, iTV, and Convergence Technologies. Before returning to Pennsylvania, Beth spent nineteen years in Phoenix, Arizona, working for AT&T, Norstan Communications, and Qwest (formerly U S West) Communications holding various corporate account management and sales leadership roles within their corporate field marketing and strategic/national accounts divisions.

Beth received a B.A. in Telecommunications from Penn State and an M.B.A. from The University of Phoenix. Beth is a Past President of The Penn State Greater Phoenix Alumni Chapter. A native of Altoona, Pennsylvania, Beth is an avid Penn State football fan.


Catherine Dufour
Director of Corporate Relations

Catherine focuses on corporate fundraising in energy, materials, chemicals, and similar industries. Prior to this position she participated in Penn State’s Administrative Fellows program, a year-long fellowship with the vice president for Commonwealth Campuses. Catherine worked in Career Services at Penn State for eighteen years, where she had responsibility for employer relations and on-campus interviewing, as well as outreach programming efforts and career fairs.

Catherine earned a B.A. in Speech Communications from Penn State, an M.A. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University and is currently working on a D.Ed. in Higher Education here at Penn State. She lives in State College with her husband and two daughters.


Eric Reinhard
Associate Director, Foundation Relations

As part of the central development staff, Eric works in partnership across the University community to identify, cultivate, and steward corporate and foundation donors. Focusing on private foundation fundraising, Eric works with faculty and development colleagues across the University to identify compelling projects for support and develop fundraising strategies in support of the institution's strategic priorities. Eric joined the CFR team in February 2010 as assistant director, focusing on developing internal and external communication initiatives, proposal writing, and corporate campaign committee facilitation. Eric spent the previous three years managing the undergraduate recruitment program for Penn State’s Eberly College of Science.

Prior to arriving at Penn State in 2007, Eric worked for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in Washington, DC, most recently as assistant director of conservation education. There he was responsible for coordinating the collaborative conservation education efforts of over 210 member institutions, from strategic planning and partnership building to program development, implementation, and evaluation. Eric began his conservation career as a volunteer keeper at the Seneca Park Zoo, followed by internships at The Living Seas at Walt Disney World and the National Zoological Park.

Eric received a B.S. in Biology and an M.B.A., both from Penn State. Originally from Rochester, New York, he now lives in State College with his wife Becky and daughters, Emma and Kate. Eric enjoys whitewater kayaking, volleyball, nature travel, and cooking.

Heather Winfield
Associate Director, Foundation Relations 

As a member of the Foundation Relations team, Heather Winfield works with Development colleagues and Penn State faculty to seek major philanthropic support by matching University strengths and priorities with private foundations’ interests in the areas of research, academic programs, and outreach projects. Prior to joining the CFR staff in July 2014, she spent two years as a major gifts officer for Penn State’s College of Education helping alumni and friends of the College develop and realize their philanthropic goals during For The Future: The Campaign for Penn State Students.

Heather returned to Penn State in 2012 after beginning her development career here in 2004 with the Smeal College of Business. Since then, she has worked at Michigan State University, the University of South Florida, and most recently as a major gifts officer at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is thrilled to be back in Happy Valley with her husband, who is on faculty with the School of Theatre, and their two children.

 

Kathy Addleman
Development Assistant

Kathy Addleman began her career with Penn State and University Development in 1999 when she served as the training coordinator which oversees the campus development programs. In 2003 she worked in the Office of Gift Planning and moved into her current position in the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations in 2004. In her current roll as development assistant, Kathy manages corporate campus visits for the office directors, manages the office’s football process, and retrieves extensive data from the University’s data warehouse.

Kathy attended Penn State and worked toward a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Resource Management. She loves animals and enjoys hiking with her dogs and husband Terry in the beautiful mountains of central Pennsylvania.


Sharon Bassett
Administrative Support Assistant

Sharon joined the Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) team as staff assistant to the director in 2003. In addition, she oversees general office management, is the office stewardship contact, and processes all of CFR’s incoming gifts. Prior to joining CFR, she served as staff assistant to the Directors of the Philadelphia and New York regions in Penn State’s former Regional Development Program. Before signing on with Penn State, Sharon was self-employed and, along with her husband, Brian, owned and managed Bassett Marketing, parent company of Bassett Dance Studio, Round Dancer Magazine, and Hi Hat Round Dance Records.

Sharon received a B.A. in General Arts and Sciences, College of the Liberal Arts, from Penn State and is a graduate of South Hills Business School. She is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. A native of State College, Pennsylvania, Sharon enjoys history (particularly American), family gatherings, and ballroom and round dancing.


​Sandra Ebel
Administrative Support Assistant

Sandy joined Penn State’s staff in April 2014 as an administrative support assistant for the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations. Her primary role is to provide support for the foundation directors in their fundraising efforts across the University. Prior to joining CFR, Sandy was the foundation administrator for six of her eight years with the Bemis Company, Inc. in Neenah, Wisconsin.

Sandy attended University of Wisconsin- La Crosse and worked toward a bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education. She moved from Wisconsin to Port Matilda, PA with her husband, Patrick, their two children, Lauren and Erik, and the family’s three dogs and two cats after her husband took a position with the University as an assistant track and field coach in the fall of 2012. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, horseback riding, spending time with family and friends, and exploring new places.
