Thank you for joining us to celebrate Penn State’s 2012 Day of Philanthropy. It was a great success, with numerous colleges, campuses, and organizations partaking in the annual event and raising awareness of private giving’s impact on the University and its students. Through a range of activities and events across many Penn State campuses, volunteers and staff honored the University’s tradition of philanthropy and celebrated the opportunity we all have to make a difference for current students and future generations.
Before the event this year, Leslie Dalton, a senior Political Science major at Penn State, reminded us of the importance of Penn State’s Day of Philanthropy:
“Most students and alumni don’t realize what a huge impact philanthropy makes on the quality of a Penn State education. On November 15, we’re looking forward to not only encouraging people to make gifts and support our University, but also thanking donors for their generosity and celebrating the significance of past philanthropy.”
If you missed this year’s event, you can view photos from the event in our photo gallery. Additionally, it’s never too late to make an impact—make a gift to Penn State. Finally, plan to attend next year’s event; in coordination with National Philanthropy Day, the event is held annually on November 15.
