The Hollywood dance-a-THON was held on January 29, 2012 at the historic Avalon Theater in Hollywood. Over 500 people attended the 6-hour dance-a-THON, including Hollywood celebrities such as Drew Seeley (High School Musical Tour), Scott Michael Foster (Greek), Justin Deeley (90210) and Laura Prepon (That 70’s Show). Also in attendance was distinguished Penn State alumnus Rosey Grier (’56).
Co-hosted by Devon Werkheiser (Ned’s Declassified) and Daniel Curtis Lee (Zeke and Luther), the event featured nine bands and singers, plus a DJ, providing non-stop entertainment for the 72 Dancers who signed up to dance and raise money for the Four Diamonds Fund. LA Chapter Board Member John Mitchell, former Blue Band featured twirler, wowed the crowd with an outstanding twirling performance to a medley of Penn State songs.
With VIP’s and celebrities, a red carpet, and a silent auction, the event raised $37,411 for THON and The Four Diamonds Fund. The event was co-chaired by PSULA members Erica Wernick and Gary Werkheiser.
