The Center for the Performing Arts

The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State plays a crucial role in the vibrant campus and community life of Penn State and the Centre region. By presenting some of the most respected names in performing arts from across the country and around the world—classical and jazz musicians, traditional and modern dance companies, touring Broadway musicals, and more—the center is renowned for bringing the excitement of a metropolitan cultural scene to our rural setting. The center also commissions new works from top-notch artists and companies, and connects community members with the creative people behind the performances by coordinating workshops, community outreach programs, and other residency activities. A naming gift will provide the center with stable funding to continue its activities and expand in new directions, thereby solidifying the center’s place in the top tier of America’s university-based performing arts centers.
