What are the levels of the President’s Club?

The President’s Club honors members at four levels of recognition:

What does annual giving support?

Members of the President’s Club make gifts to initiatives of their choice throughout the University and can benefit any part of Penn State — scholarships for students, arts programming, athletics, etc.

Qualifying for Membership

Who can qualify?

Alumni and friends are eligible for recognition.

Is President’s Club membership based on the calendar year or fiscal year?

Annual membership is based on the University’s fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30.

What types of gifts are accepted towards joining the President’s Club?

Gifts of the following types made to any allocation at Penn State can qualify you for membership in the President’s Club:

  • Cash/Check/Credit Card 
  • Securities 
  • Gifts from an individual’s company
  • Gifts from an individual’s family foundation
  • Gifts from a community foundation where the gift is attributable to a donor-advised fund established by the individual
  • Matching gifts 

Do pledge payments count in the total necessary to qualify?

Yes. If you will be making a payment or payments totaling $2,500 or more during a fiscal year on a past pledge of support, you will qualify for membership in the President’s Club.

Do corporate matching gifts count?

Yes, matching gifts count toward your total giving during the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). Visit our Corporate Matching Gifts page or ask your human resources office for a matching gift form, fill it out, and send it to Penn State along with your gift.

What are the benefits of membership in the President’s Club?

Your annual leadership support directly underwrites the University’s mission and encourages our excellence in higher education. In appreciation of your generosity, the University extends certain benefits, including:

  • Letters from the President and other University leaders about current initiatives and priorities at Penn State
  • invitations to the annual reception at University Park
  • a lapel pin and car decal for first-time members
