The Penn State Institutes for Energy and the Environment (PSIEE)

The key to good stewardship and a secure environmental future is a dynamic combination of technologies and policies—embodied in the comprehensive research taking place in the Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment (PSIEE). Linking together nearly 500 faculty members from forty-one departments in ten colleges, the PSIEE encompasses everything from hydrogen and bio-electricity production to clean coal, bio-based jet fuels, and solar power. In addition, the PSIEE is committed to studying the ethical dimensions of energy and the environment and includes researchers at the intersection of the technological and social sciences.
