Penn State received a $1-million-dollar gift from the parents of a currently enrolled international student. This gift will be used to establish the “President’s Global Experience Fund” endowment. The purpose of the endowment will be to support the Global Penn State initiative to assist the University in providing students and faculty with universal experiences and perspectives and in solving universal problems through partnerships and initiatives that span the world.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Alan and Rungnapa Routh will give $100,000 through the Penn State Parent Philanthropy program. The funds will be divided between an endowment for the College of Communications, named the Routh Family International Education Fund, and funds for new equipment for the Career Services Center at Penn State.

Continuing its long history of philanthropy to the University, the Penn State Alumni Association has pledged a gift of $1.5 million to support student scholarships across Penn State over the next five years. This pledge supports Penn State’s upcoming fundraising initiative, A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence, which includes as one of its core priorities a commitment to broad scholarship support.
